Hi Blog, wanted to give a little update day of life is like on the race. Everyday I set my alarm for around 630am, some days I get up then but most days the snooze button gets hit at least once or twice. There have been a few rainy days and these are especially hard to get up during, and entail more snooze button pushes. The rain is so peaceful coming down on my tent. The first 9 days being here entailed bucket showers every morning for all the guys. Yes a bucket shower is just what it sounds like. A bucket filled with cold water that you pour on your head. The goal is to get in and out as fast as possible. The past few days have had warm showers though. The girls here got the warm showers for the first week because of some covid restrictions. The first hot shower I got was so so nice and I never want to go back to the bucket. After the morning shower I have been finding a quiet place to pop in my airpods and put on some worship music and read my bible. I have been going over Roman’s during this time and working to memorize verses from it. After this time we have breakfast at 8:00, every morning we have something new for breakfast some of my favorite meals have been quiche which is an egg casserole, oatmeal, and just regular scrambled eggs. After breakfast we have devo time with my squad, there are 37 of us in total. During this devo time one of our leaders gives us a book or a few verses to read, and we share our opinions on what we read as a group. After devo we have a session around 10:00, during this session we have a new speaker ever day. This week some of the topics we went over during session time was Miracles, The History of Mission, Cultural Perspective, and Appreciating cultural differences. After our session time ends at 12:00 we have half an hour of cleaning. Some of the cleaning jobs include stocking toilet papers in our wonderful Porta potties, taking the trash out, or filling our water coolers. After our 30 mins of cleaning we have lunch at 12:30. Every Tuesday for lunch we have tacos which has been my personal favorite meal. After lunch we have an till 3:00 for free time. Most of the time I do something different but it is a great time to take a nap, or play cards with everyone. After our free time we have either an hour of fundraising, move your body which is exercise, storytelling which is a time to work on your blogs, and fun time where we play different fun games. After this hour time we have about an hour before dinner. This past week we watched some videos, on how to do ministry better and had some questions to go over about it that we talked about with out team. After this time we have dinner at 5:00 some of my favorite dinners this past week have been spaghetti, stir fry, meatballs and mashed potatoes. After dinner we have team time, this is a team where we do devotions with my team, give each other feedback and just have a good time chatting with each other. My team consists of 6 Boys. I’m gonna put a picture of all of them below. After this team time we are set free for the rest of the day. Normally I like to hang with everyone till about 930, where I retire to my tent and get ready for the next day. This is what a day in my life looks like here in Georgia and its so so good.
